ShotBro Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 28, 2026
ShotBro: Screenshot Editor ("ShotBro" or "the app") is provided by Spano_Bro ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Android app.
1. Contact
- Developer and data controller: Spano_Bro
- Email: spano.bro@gmail.com
- Website: https://spanobro.com
- Privacy Policy: https://spanobro.com/shotbro/privacy
2. Screenshots, Images, and Documents
ShotBro processes only screenshots and images that you explicitly open in or share with the app. Editing, rendering, cropping, redaction, and optical character recognition are performed on your device.
ShotBro does not provide a developer-operated account or cloud-storage service and does not upload the pixel content of your screenshots, annotations, recognized text, PNG exports, or PDF exports to a ShotBro server.
To protect unfinished work from Android process recreation or an app relaunch, ShotBro may keep the current editing session in the app's private storage on your device. Saved PNG files are written to the public Pictures/Screenshots folder. Saved PDF files are written to Downloads/ShotBro. These files remain on your device until you delete them.
When you choose Share, ShotBro creates a temporary export and gives the receiving Android app temporary read access to that file. The receiving app's own privacy practices apply after you select it.
3. On-Device Text Recognition
ShotBro uses the bundled Google ML Kit Latin text-recognition library. Screenshot image content is processed on the device. Recognized text is used only for the action you request, such as copying text or creating an editable redaction.
According to Google's ML Kit disclosure, ML Kit may collect technical information such as device and operating-system information, app package and version information, performance metrics, and a per-installation identifier for diagnostics and usage analytics. Google states that this technical data is encrypted in transit.

4. Advertising and Consent
The production version of ShotBro uses Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial advertisements. The Google Mobile Ads SDK and participating advertising partners may automatically collect or receive information such as:
- the device's IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
- interactions with the app and advertisements;
- SDK, app, diagnostic, and performance information;
- advertising ID, app-set ID, and other device identifiers where available;
- consent choices and information needed to apply those choices;
- precise geolocation data only where it is available, legally permitted, and covered by the user's applicable consent choices.
ShotBro itself does not request Android precise-location permission. Google describes the Mobile Ads SDK's purposes as advertising, analytics, measurement, security, and fraud prevention. Depending on your region, device settings, and privacy choices, personalized, non-personalized, or limited ads may be shown.

5. Privacy Choices
ShotBro uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and maintain advertising consent where required. An applicable consent message may be shown before advertising requests are made. Where offered, the first screen provides options to consent, not consent, or manage detailed choices.
When Google indicates that a privacy-options entry point is required, ShotBro displays a Privacy choices action that lets you review or withdraw applicable consent choices. ShotBro also keeps a permanent link to this Privacy Policy in its privacy menu. You may limit or reset the Android advertising ID through your device settings.
6. Sharing with Third Parties
ShotBro does not sell your screenshot content or send it to a ShotBro server. Information may be processed by Google and participating advertising partners as described above for advertising, consent management, measurement, diagnostics, security, and fraud prevention. When you explicitly share an export, the app you select receives access to that exported file.
Third parties process information under their own privacy policies and applicable consent choices.
7. Permissions and Device Access
ShotBro uses:
- internet and network-state access for consent messages and advertising;
- the Android system image picker and share interface to open images you choose;
- Android MediaStore to save PNG and PDF exports;
- legacy public-storage write access only on Android 8 and Android 9 when required for saving exports.
ShotBro does not request contacts, microphone, precise location, SMS, call-log, camera, notification, or broad modern photo-library access.
8. Retention and Deletion
ShotBro does not maintain a developer-hosted user account or database containing your screenshots.
You can delete:
- an unfinished local session by intentionally exiting or replacing it, by clearing the app's storage, or by uninstalling the app;
- saved PNG and PDF files through your device's gallery or file manager;
- all private app data by clearing storage or uninstalling ShotBro.
Temporary share exports are held in the app's private cache and may be removed by the app or Android. Technical advertising, consent, and ML Kit data is retained by Google and its partners under their own policies and applicable legal obligations.
9. Children
ShotBro is a general-purpose utility intended for a general audience aged 13 and older. It is not designed or marketed specifically for children under 13. We do not knowingly operate accounts for children or collect their screenshot content through a ShotBro server. If you believe that a child has provided personal information directly to us, contact us at spano.bro@gmail.com.
10. Security
ShotBro minimizes data transfer by keeping screenshot editing and text recognition on the device. Google states that data transmitted by the Mobile Ads and ML Kit SDKs is encrypted in transit. No method of electronic processing, storage, or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. International Processing
Google and participating advertising partners may process advertising, consent, measurement, and SDK diagnostic data in countries other than the country where you live. Their privacy terms, applicable consent mechanisms, and data-transfer safeguards govern that processing.
12. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal data processed by advertising providers, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent. Use the in-app Privacy choices action where available, consult Google's privacy controls, or contact us at spano.bro@gmail.com for questions relating to ShotBro.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when ShotBro's features, SDKs, legal obligations, or data practices change. The current version will remain available at https://spanobro.com/shotbro/privacy with a revised effective date.
